Sports Personality Awards

Lower Sixth student Jade Williams has been short-listed for the Carmarthenshire Local Sports Personality Awards in the category of Young Sportswoman. The awards will take place at the Stradey Park Hotel, Llanelli on Wednesday 27th January 2010. On Tuesday 6th August 2009 Jade was invited to Chelsea Football ground to accept a Sport Matters Award from her sporting heroine Dame Kelly Holmes.

A host of other celebrities attended the event including Sally Gunnell, James Cracknell, Marlon Devonish, Iwan Thomas, Alan Pascoe, Brian Moore, Roger Uttley and others. Jade is currently ranked number one in the UK in the 800m for her age group and her ambition is to run for team GB.
