Boarding
Due to high levels of demand, St. Michael’s has opened its first boarding house and our first boarders arrived in January 2003. Since this time the boarding house has been operating near full capacity, and we have seen almost 100 students from the UK, the EU and around the world take advantage of a fantastic studying and living environment.
Park House, is a handsome and historic mansion set in an acre of grounds in the village of Llangennech, just 10 minutes from the school site by car or school bus.
Park House has been totally refurbished to a high standard of comfort and attractiveness, and so provides a bright, cheerful and secure environment, where every pupil feels safe, happy and protected. Pupils are accommodated in well furnished and equipped, single or shared study bedrooms. Our house parents Mr. and Mrs. Gibson, have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, giving Park house the feel of a real home away from home.
The house has spacious recreation rooms and pleasant grounds in which pupils may relax, watch TV, play basketball, or badminton. A range of activities are available for our boarders, with our House Parents adapting provision to suit needs.
Boarders are expected to attend supervised study periods every Monday to Friday, to complete homework, coursework and revision. This study can occur either at Park House or on the school premises. Evening study is from 6pm until 8pm, and during study weeks, is from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm until 4pm. Individual teachers often visit study groups to assist them with homework and preparation from exams.
At weekends pupils take part in a wide variety of sporting and recreational pursuits.
