Physical Education

P.E. and Games are taught throughout the Prep School by specialist teachers and we enjoy an excellent sporting record despite our relatively small numbers.

Aims

The aims of the Prep Physical Education syllabus is to create an enjoyable learning environment and to enable the children to experience a range of movement, skills and games.

The Reception and Prep Prep classes experience manipulative skills, mobility, physical control and are encouraged to undertake all skills with confidence and imagination. From Prep 1 to Prep 4 skills are refined into game situations, extending their basic skills.

These games include basketball, cricket, football, netball, hockey, rugby, tennis and rounders. There are competitive games of football, cricket and rounders in Prep 2, whilst Prep 3 and 4 compete in netball football and tag rugby against local schools. Swimming lessons are held for one term throughout Prep 2, 3 & 4.

The Preparatory School also boasts some excellent individual and team achievements on the sports field.
